The Central Bureau of Statistics for Tanah Laut Regency has carried out activities to declare an Integrity Zone (ZI) towards a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM) in the BPS Kab. Tanah Laut as well as Socialization of the 2023 Agricultural Census which was held on Wednesday (17/05) in the Algorithm Hall, Pelaihari. The event was attended by the Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development at the Regional Secretariat, representatives of the Provincial BPS, Bappeda of Tanah Laut Regency, Forkopimda ranks, heads of OPD, heads of agencies or representatives and farmer groups.
The purpose of the ZI Declaration activities towards WBK and WBBM is to prevent corruption, collusion and nepotism and improve the quality of public services. "For the sake of realizing good governance in producing BPS employees with enthusiasm, ASN core values, morals, and the ASN motto, proud to serve the nation, all of this inspires BPS Tanah Laut Regency to fight tirelessly to reach areas free of corruption and clean bureaucratic areas and serve within the Central Bureau of Statistics for Tanah Laut Regency," remarks by the Head of BPS for Tanah Laut Regency, Sukma Handayani.
The activity was continued with the socialization of the 2023 Agricultural Census with the aim of getting to know more about the 2023 Agricultural Census. The Agricultural Census is conducted every 10 years in the year ending in number 3. The 2023 Agricultural Census is the 7th agricultural census. The theme for the 2023 Agricultural Census is "Recording Indonesian Agriculture for Food Sovereignty and Farmer Welfare".
The 2023 Agricultural Census will be held simultaneously from 1 June to 31 July 2023. The 2023 Agricultural Census covers seven sub-sectors, namely food crops, horticulture, plantations, fisheries, animal husbandry, forestry and agricultural services. The 2023 Agricultural Census officers in Tanah Laut Regency totaled 336 field officers.
The Head of the Tanah Laut Regency BPS added that, "The success of the 2023 Agricultural Census certainly requires collaboration from various parties. We hope that the data from the 2023 Agricultural Census can be utilized by the government in formulating policies, one of which is to improve the targeting data for the distribution of subsidized fertilizers."
