Abstract

In March 2019, the number of poor people in South Kalimantan was 192.48 thousand people with a poverty rate of 4.55 percent.
The number of poor people in urban areas is 70.52 thousand people with a poverty rate of 3.53 percent and the number of poor people in rural areas is 121.97 thousand people with a poverty rate of 5.47 percent.
South Kalimantan is the province with the lowest poverty rate on Kalimantan Island. The highest regional poverty rate in Kalimantan occurred in West Kalimantan at 7.49 percent.
The role of food commodities towards the formation of the poverty line is 71.21 percent.
The Poverty Depth Index (P1) in South Kalimantan is 0.702 and the Poverty Severity Index (P2) is 0.153.
